Why This Hub Exists
I built this Resources hub after watching the same pattern too many times: talented Senior designers stalling at Staff-level interviews, freelancers underpricing themselves for years, and designers picking bootcamps or degrees based on marketing instead of what actually leads to career growth. Most of what's written about these topics online is either generic 101 content or written by people who haven't actually sat on the other side of the table — reviewing portfolios, running hiring panels, vetting Toptal applicants.
Every guide, checklist, and template here comes directly from that experience — 12+ years evaluating Staff+ portfolios, leading product design at Fortune 200 scale, and freelancing in the top 3% on Toptal since 2018.
Content Philosophy
Nothing here is gated behind an email signup, and nothing is written to pad out an SEO word count. If a term, checklist item, or comparison doesn't reflect something I've actually seen matter in a real hiring decision or client engagement, it doesn't go in.
